I have been able to find a couple articles on the second transition of Poulan into "Beaird Poulan". Basically it was the largest expansion Poulan made moving into a state of the art facility all under one roof; making everything in-house and top of the line as the saws that were made out of it are still being used today! Unfortunately, this period was the last of the hay day of all "American" Poulan.  Poulan later purchased/merged with Pioneer line saws and was shifting to where they sold out! (Keep in mind that the Poulan Pro series that followed had some great saws, I just don't think the engineers/designers were able to follow up or through with their saws to evolve them.)
