McCulloch 5-49 (Two Man)
Mcculloch made a slew of 2-man saws. The 5-49 was a 5 H.P. 49 LB. 2-man. It came out right after the 12-25a which was the first completely built/in house made Mcculloch. These saws did what only Mall and Disston chainsaws were able to do and that was, be sold across the country and even found in other countries. Earlier chainsaws were usually confined to their own regions. The saw is well built and saw tremendous use in large scale logging and even to homeowners. I have seen a handful with bow bars but as with most bow 2-man chainsaws, they were most prevalent in the southern pulp wood regions. The saw runs smooth and is easy to adjust. The Mcculloch carburetor was a design seen only in a handful (I believe in models: 12-25a, 5-49, 7-55 and 99) of their early 2-mans chainsaws switching to Tillotson carbs in their later 2-mans. As with any 2-man chainsaw it is a blast to run!
