Homelite 3100G

Here is a beast of a saw!! 114cc gear driven power house!

This was the largest of the XP series gear drives and brother to the legendary 2100 direct drive Homelite. It was one of those saws that may have been overpowered or built too late in the logging timeline. I doubt there was a tree this could not handle. With all of the gear drives I have ran, I see no reason why this saw couldn't wear a 6' bar all day and I bet an 8' bar was was not uncommon for these to be seen without in the bush on large Redwoods. I see a few weak spots in the way it was built but none of which would have been a problem or caused an issue for it running.

This would have been a very reliable saw for the professional logger.  These are quite hard to find but is a saw I recommend you run if ever the chance arises.
